Master at Arms Dies After Crash Into Gate 8 JEB Little Creek Fort Story. Suspect in Custody

The Navy said a driver who tried to run a gate at a high rate of speed at Joint Expeditionary Base Fort Story Saturday hit a base security vehicle and killed a Master at Arms.

Beth Baker of the Navy Investigation said the civilian driver was operating a pick up truck and after the impact both men were “pinned inside their vehicles,” according to a Navy times report. Local law enforcement and Navy officials are on the scene and conducting the ongoing investigation.

The driver was a civilian and also injured. An investigation is ongoing.

Neither the Master in Arms nor the civilian have been identified. We will keep you posted as further information is released. As of now, the suspect and incident are not considered a terrorist threat.
