A bus carrying Indian pilgrims has slipped off a mountain road in central Nepal, killing seven people and injuring nine others. Police say the crash happened Saturday night. The group was returning after visiting the Manakamana Temple, which is a revered Hindu shrine. The bus was heading downhill when it slipped on a curve. It rolled far down the slope and landed in a ravine. Police say all the people who died are Indian pilgrims. Several other Indian passengers were hurt. The Nepali driver and his assistant also suffered injuries. Police say local hospitals were treating the injured. Officials plan autopsies before releasing the bodies to families.
