Former British Home Secretary Suella Braverman has defected to the hard-right Reform UK party. She resigned her 30-year membership with the Conservative Party and will now represent her southern England constituency as a Reform member. Braverman, known for her strong anti-migration stance, was removed from leadership in November 2023 after controversial remarks. Her move follows Robert Jenrick's recent defection, giving Reform UK eight seats in the House of Commons. Reform, led by Nigel Farage, is gaining traction in opinion polls ahead of key local elections in May.
