The EU's executive arm, Russia and Thailand say they've been asked to join U.S. President Donald Trump’s new Board of Peace that will supervise the next phase of the Gaza peace plan. Neither of the three have confirmed their participation to the Board. Russia and Thailand said they're looking at the details of what the board's mandate will be and how it will function. But Israel’s far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich on Monday dismissed the Board of Peace as a raw deal for Israel and called for its dissolution. The board will oversee the Gaza executive committee that's tasked with seeing through key provisions of the peace plan including deployment of an international security force, disarmament of Hamas and the territory's reconstruction.
