President Donald Trump has made lots of promises during the first year of his second term in the White House. Some ideas have come to fruition. Others have faded away. Some are kicking around. These include a new Air Force One gifted by Qatar and the U.S. annexation of Greenland. Trump has also ordered an investigation into Joe Biden's use of the autopen. Trump talked up reopening Alcatraz for detainees and extending mortgage terms to 50 years, but there's been little progress. And some ideas have lost steam. That's the case with making Canada the 51st state and eliminating the federal income tax.
