NATIONAL SUMMARY
Heavy rain and thunderstorms will occur across eastern
Texas, Louisiana and western Mississippi today. There can be
flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Elsewhere
across the South, spotty thunderstorms will pop up across
central and southern Texas, as well as along the Gulf coast
and in Florida. A storm will bring spotty thunderstorms from
Colorado and Wyoming to Minnesota. Gusty winds and small
hail can accompany any thunderstorm, mainly from northern
Colorado to South Dakota. Much of the Great Lakes and the
Northeast will continue to experience pleasant weather as an
area of high pressure remains over the regions. On the other
side of the nation, dry conditions and extreme heat will
continue across the West, with daily record-high
temperatures being challenged.
