This weekend marks Louisiana’s annual Second Amendment sales tax holiday. The state Department of Revenue said Tuesday that a variety of hunting supplies will be eligible for exemption from local and state taxes. The exemption will apply from 12:01 a.m. Friday to midnight Sunday. Officials said the exemption applies to all consumer purchases of firearms, ammunition and specified hunting supplies. That includes archery items, apparel and certain types of knives. Purchases such as hunting dogs, animal feed, off-road vehicles and vessels like airboats will not be eligible. A full list of eligible items can be found on the department's website.
