Trial has begun in Florida for four activists accused of illegally acting as Russian agents to help the Kremlin sow political discord and interfere in U.S. elections. All four are or were affiliated with the African People’s Socialist Party and Uhuru Movement with locations in St. Petersburg, Florida, and St. Louis. Elon Musk’s satellite-based internet service provider Starlink has backtracked and announced it will comply with a Brazilian Supreme Court justice’s order to block the billionaire’s social media platform, X. Grand Canyon National Park say pipeline repairs are holding and they plan to lift the suspension of overnight lodging on the South Rim on Thursday. Four significant breaks in the 12.5 mile-long Transcanyon Waterline led the famous tourist destination to shut down overnight hotel stays on Aug. 29 during one of the park’s busiest times of the year. This weekend marks Louisiana’s annual Second Amendment sales tax holiday. The state Department of Revenue said Tuesday that a variety of hunting supplies will be eligible for exemption from local and state taxes. The exemption will apply from 12:01 a.m. Friday to midnight Sunday. Officials said the exemption applies to all consumer purchases of firearms, ammunition and specified hunting supplies. Police say an 11-year-old boy is suspected of using two guns to fatally shoot a former Louisiana mayor and his daughter over the weekend. Jared McIver is chief of police in the northern city of Minden. He said Tuesday that officers found the bodies of 82-year-old Joe Cornelius Sr. and his 31-year-old daughter Keisha Miles at a residence Sunday morning.
