Widnes Vikings Shock Bradford Bulls In Making Cup Progress
A couple of decades ago this would have been a worthy Challenge Cup Final, but in 2024 it was a round four clash to determine who would move forwards into the four-game round five and a chance to take on a Super League side as Bradford hosted Widnes in an all-Championship affair.
The two sides have never actually met in a Challenge Cup Final although they did meet twice in the Championship in 2023 with honours being shared at a win apiece... Читать дальше...

That Hull red card is the biggest joke yet, call it dummy spitting or whatever you like, but i dont want to continue watching a game that goes down that path. 2 players literally bumped heads accidently and he gets a red, its ridiculous. And the uppity refs with their scripts theyve been given are pssing me off.
It's a really strange one with Fozzy. Musically I like what they sound like but vocally it's borderline karaoke with Chris Jericho being supported with his vocals 95% of the time.

If the game can continue to thrive in Australia (and it is doing), I see no reason why it can't thrive here too.

With the impending legal case being brought by former players then obviously the RFL have to be seen to be doing whatever they can to protect players from injury both on the field and subsequently in their future lives, so I think we are all in agreement that they have to be proactive in achieving this, but what about bringing in a policy to inform young players of the potential implications of playing professional rugby league whereby both they and their parents would be given a presentation by... Why do we keep changing not just kick off times but also the day. The match today is 1400hrs but for Barrow it is Saturday but 1500hrs. I think Saturday games are problematical with traffic and parking.

I watched the highlights of Millwall Southampton game and Russell Martin had a paddy at the end of game and even refused to shake the Millwall player's hands, he seems proper rattled.
Oh, and the old (5hithouse) Millwall are back.

"On-field calls proved decisive
The notion of referees being given the option to send a decision upstairs to the video referee with a try or no try decision has always seemed contentious. After all, if a referee isn’t sure, should he be allowed to offer an opinion to those with all the angles?
There’s no guessing in the NRL in that sense – and that is exactly what it is, given that the whole point of the referee asking for help is because he isn’t sure. And that policy felt decisive on two separate fronts tonight. Читать дальше...

It would be a shame to get thumped against Chelsea but we have bigger fish to fry and we play our fringe players plus some of the youngsters imo.
Whilst there`s money to be made with a cup run , there`s more money to be made with promotion.

It’s just not a good look for the RFL, first they bend the rules for Smith so he can avoid the ban he clearly deserved to ensure Wigan are at full strength.
Then they appoint a Wigan born ref, who ends up having a shocker and hands the game to Wigan.
Really poor all round, I always want the SL team to win these games but I can’t celebrate that one, good job it’s just a glorified pre-season friendly for the Aussies.

I’ve just watched this game and all I can say is what an absolute embarrassment of refereeing. To send Wardles attempt up as a try when he can’t see a dam thing and Penriths try was far closer and to send up as no try, well absolute crap. Wigan were always going to win this. An absolute fares and joke.

Sounds like Calcott could be a broken knee cap and Crooks a broken foot. Disaster if true for Calcott and would be his season over. Crookes would be touch and go depending on the location of the break. Not heard anything else on Obrien other than feared torn bicept. Leaves us desperatly thin on troops now before the season has even started proper. To lose 3 of our best players in a nothing game is awful luck.

The sending off was due to Currie's play acting. Never a Red in a million years.
The two wing incidents were far worse, with defenders trying to remove the head from the shoulders.
Really put a dampener on this game which was shaping up at the time.
