Former George W. Bush Press Secretary Ari Fleischer on Friday gave former President Donald Trump some legal advice that a fellow Fox News panelist called out as a direct violation of his gag order.
While discussing the ongoing Manhattan hush-money trial, Fleischer said that Trump needed to do a better job of explaining why Judge Juan Merchan was supposedly "conflicted" and thus deserving of removal from the case.
"President Trump needs to stop calling the judge conflicted -- he needs to explain why he's conflicted," said Fleischer. "Every day of the trial, he goes on there and he says, 'The judge is conflicted, conflicted bigger than anywhere I've ever seen in my life!' He doesn't explain how or why."
Flesicher then outlined what he believed Trump should be saying.
"He needs to say the judge's daughter works for a Democratic political consulting firm that does anti-Trump business!" he said. "He needs to explain that, otherwise it's just an assertion with no proof. And if the president is going to say it, back it up, explain it."

At this point, panelist Dagen McDowell jumped in to throw some cold water on Fleischer's strategy.
"I think that's a violation of the gag order," she informed him.
"No, he can criticize the judge," said former Trump White House counselor Kellyanne Conway.
"No, not the judge, but the family," McDowell emphasized.
Fleischer, however, seemed oblivious to this reality.
"If the judge is conflicted, you can still explain how and why, and I think could comply with the gag order!" he insisted.
In fact, the gag order issued by Judge Merchan prevents Trump from attacking witnesses, jurors, and family members of court personnel, which includes Merchan's daughter.
In other words, it's possible following Fleischer's advice could land Trump in prison.
