The Ulster County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of a Kingston man in connection to a hate crime investigation.
KINGSTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Ulster County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of a Kingston man in connection to a hate crime investigation. Caleb Rochester, 55, is facing multiple charges.
On March 25, detectives received a report from the Temple Emanuel Synagogue in Kingston regarding a banner with antisemitic language and artwork that was found posted on the building. Police say the adhesive used to post the banner also caused damage to the building's façade.
The ensuing investigation identified Rochester as a suspect, and he was taken into custody on May 16. He now faces the following charges:
Rochester was released with an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to return to the City of Kingston Court at a future date and time.
