Two Capital Region BOCES culinary program students have been accepted to the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park.
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Two Capital Region BOCES culinary program students have been accepted to the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. Genevieve Cooper of Shenendehowa and Lily Galluccio of Scotia-Glenville were accepted to the private school and will attend this fall.
Both students said they were excited to attend, and Cooper said she's dreamed of attending the school since she was young. The classmates are currently in Chef Paul Rother's Culinary Arts and Hospitality program at the Albany campus of the Career and Technical Education Center.
Chef Paul Roth said it is rare to see two students attend the Culinary Institute of America together. "These two are good students and are dedicated to wanting to do their best," he said.
Galluccio and Cooper said their time with BOCES helped them feel prepared to attend one of the top culinary institutes in the world. "It’s one of the best schools and will help me achieve my goal of becoming a private chef,” Galluccio said.
