ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Troy man was indicted on May 9 on a charge of abusive sexual contact, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. Robert Seifert Jr., 65, is accused of grabbing the breast and groin of a paramedic at the Albany Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Seifert was sentenced back in 2017 for another incident involving the Veterans Affairs Medical Center where he threatened to commit a mass shooting at the hospital. He appeared in court in Albany on April 9 after being charged by criminal complaint for the reported sexual contact incident.
The charge carries a maximum term of two years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000 and a term of post-release supervision of up to one year. The U.S. Attorney's Office says that Seifert has conditionally waived his right to a detention hearing, and is currently detained pending further court proceedings.
