MANHATTAN (KSNT) - Friday was payday for K-State's head football coach.
Chris Klieman earned his 2024 retention bonus on March 1. He received $250,000 for his loyalty to K-State, as outlined in his contract.
The bonus comes in addition to Klieman's $3.8 million salary for the 2024 contract year. The Wildcat head football coach just wrapped up his fifth season leading the program, in which K-State finished 9-4 after a Pop-Tarts Bowl win.
Winning eight or more games in 2023 clocked an automatic one year extension for Coach Klieman. He is now undercontract in Manhattan through the 2031 season and set to make $5.3 million by then.

K-State lost more than a dozen scholarship players to the transfer portal after the 2023 season, but in December, Klieman explained why he's not worried.
