Following humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, Spain has recently announced a contribution of one million euros, and Russia has pledged one million dollars in cash assistance to the Afghan Humanitarian Fund.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said on its social media platform X that Spain has contributed one million euros to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund.
In a press release, OCHA stated that approximately 24 million people in Afghanistan will require humanitarian assistance in 2024.
It is noteworthy that this is Spain’s first humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
On the other hand, the World Food Programme of the United Nations in Afghanistan announced today that Russia has donated one million dollars to provide food assistance to 150,000 people.
This comes as the World Food Programme (WFP) had previously announced that economic challenges and humanitarian crises in Afghanistan had increased the demand for food aid in the country.
Amid a harsh winter, Afghanistan faces a deepening humanitarian crisis. With millions needing assistance, the cold exacerbates already dire conditions, leaving vulnerable populations struggling for survival.
