Earlier this month, Arizona state Sen. Eva Burch (D) learned eight weeks into her pregnancy that her embryo wasn't developing, and her choices were between an abortion or waiting for another miscarriage. “I don’t think people should have to justify their abortions," Burch said in remarks on the Senate floor on March 20. "But I’m choosing to talk about why I made this decision because I want us to be able to have meaningful conversations about the reality of how the work that we do in this body impacts... In the midst of battling multiple lawsuits in which Sean "Diddy" Combs is accused of sexual assault, physical abuse, harassment, racketeering, and sex trafficking, Homeland Security officials raided two of the rapper, producer, and entrepreneur's homes. On Monday, footage and photos from multiple outlets including TMZ and Fox 11 Los Angeles showed scores of agents surrounding Combs' residences in both Miami and Los Angeles removing people from the properties and making arrests—among them were reportedly Combs' sons... As abortion rights protesters convened outside the Supreme Court on Tuesday morning for oral arguments in Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA, a case that could decide the fate of medication abortion access in the U.S., they were joined by surprising allies: Robots dispensing prescriptions for abortion pills as well as the pills themselves, operated remotely by physicians in states with telemedicine abortion shield laws. Shield laws protect doctors and health care providers who prescribe and... Читать дальше...
During today's Supreme Court hearing in a case that could restrict access to the abortion pill nationwide, the justices sounded skeptical of the group that brought the lawsuit, suggesting that they might eventually dismiss the case. But that doesn't mean the threat to mifepristone is gone: Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas gave credence to the conservative legal theory that a Republican president could enforce a dormant law known as the Comstock Act to ban abortion pills, and possibly all procedural abortions, too. Today, the Supreme Court heard arguments in a case that could restrict access to the abortion pill nationwide. (Here's a primer on the lawsuit and how we got here.) The good news is that it sounded like there are at least five justices who believe the anti-abortion doctors don't have standing to sue the Food and Drug Administration—the three liberals, plus Chief Justice John Roberts, Neil Gorsuch, and maybe others—but we likely have to wait until June to find out if they're going to dismiss the case. Chief among the perils and delights of the internet is the ability it has given us to peer into the lives of those others, whether we know them or not. Sometimes that means checking up on an old nemesis; other times it’s noting the sudden absence of a former partner; still others it’s fixating on a celebrity. For Alexandra Tanner, it took the form of obsessing over an Instagram ensemble of Mormon moms, evangelicals, fundamentalists, homesteaders, and anyone calling themselves something that begins... I imagine a lifetime working in adult entertainment has led Stormy Daniels to field a lot of strange and specific requests from men. The latest request is coming from Grammy-nominated music producer Joel Diamond, who has visions of Daniels’ future music career. According to Page Six, Diamond wants to sign Daniels...but only under one condition. She has to record the 1976 disco hit “More, More, More” originally recorded by Andrea True. When things get this specific, I’m privy to suspect kink is involved. Читать дальше...
