A suspect was said to have allegedly fled in a vehicle.
Canadian authorities reported a shooting in an affluent area of Toronto early Tuesday morning that has since been confirmed to have taken place outside the home of rapper and singer Drake. The shooting reportedly occurred around 2:09 a.m., with one man transported to the hospital with serious injuries and the suspect having fled in a vehicle.
Local television anchor Tammie Sutherland broke the news on social media Tuesday morning, writing that there was still a police presence outside of the 37-year-old's Bridle Path home after a shooting had been reported overnight.
"A look at the scene surrounding the home of rapper Drake as police investigate a shooting in the upscale area," Sutherland added, along with two photos of the crime scene. "Police confirm to [CityNews Toronto] that Drake was NOT the man injured."

The Toronto Sun reports that the victim was Drake's 48-year-old security guard, who was struck by multiple gunshots in what witnesses describe as a drive-by shooting. "He was taken in for surgery,” said a source, who noted that the wounds are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police also confirmed to CBC Toronto that Drake's 50,000-square-foot mansion was at the center of the investigation.
The alleged shooting comes amid Drake's acrimonious, ongoing feud with rapper Kendrick Lamar, although there is no current evidence that the incident is related. The feud has been going on for years behind the scenes, but came to a head in recent weeks with the pair trading increasingly personal and insulting lyrics. Over the course of three days over the weekend alone, they released five diss tracks between the two of them.
One of those tracks included Lamar's "Not Like Us," the cover art for which featured an aerial view of Drake‘s same Toronto mansion where the shooting took place, complete with sex-offender map symbols. Fans also renamed the residence "Kendrick’s court" on Google Maps as an apparent prank further escalating the beef.
