“Survivor 46” contestant Liz Wilcox has learned that being her “honest full self” is what leads to success in her adult social life. The 35-year-old marketing strategist from Florida will bring that self motivation to Fiji when she competes for the million dollar prize. Watch their full CBS interview above.
Bullied by schoolmates as a kid, Liz learned the valuable lesson from her mom early on that “the more you try to be like everyone else, the sicker you get.” It was then that she learned to “lean into Liz” when surrounded by people, like the other kids then, that aren’t going to like her anyway. The perspective has helped her build three businesses and to create her own personal brand, but will adapting that outlook to the game of “Survivor” prove as successful?
Liz was encouraged by her seven-year-old daughter to apply for the show when they began watching the series together on television and saw Jeff Probst asking for people to sign up. Her daughter challenged her, asking, “Are you just going to talk about it or are you going to do it?” Taking her daughter’s wisdom with her on this new journey, Liz hopes to inspire her by taking the idea and “just going for it.”
Don’t miss Liz compete as an original member of the Nami tribe sporting this season’s orange buff when “Survivor 46” premieres with two-hour episodes on Wednesday, February 28 and Wednesday, March 6, followed by 90-minute episodes thereafter. The new season features 18 new players divided into three tribes and they’ll vote each other out until only one remains on Day 26 as the $1 million winner. Do you think Liz will be the newest champion?
