Low-wage workers have seen large real wage gains since the pandemic, so naturally as we come to the July 4th holiday the New York Times gives us a piece telling us how they are hurting. The piece is headlined, “America’s divided summer economy is coming to an airport or hotel near you.” If there is any ambiguity here the subhead tells us, “The gulf between higher- and low-income consumers has been widening for years, but it is expected to show up clearly in this travel season.”

Silicon computer chips have served us well for more than half a century. The tiniest features on chips currently sold are approximately 3 nanometers — a startlingly small size given that a human hair is roughly 80,000 nanometers wide. Reducing the size of features on chips will help us meet our endless need for more memory and processing power in the palm of our hand. A former personal bodyguard to Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah was among several militia members killed in a series of Israeli drone strikes on Tuesday.
The first Israeli strike hit a vehicle on the Damascus-Beirut highway inside Syria, killing two Hezbollah members, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Hezbollah later issued a statement mourning Yasser Nimr Qarnabsh, 53, from the town of Zawtar El-Charkieh in southern Lebanon.
