Temperatures soared to a searing 51 degrees Celsius in Rajasthan's Phalodi on Sunday as a heatwave swept through large parts of India. Senior IMD scientist Naresh Kumar stated that the maximum temperature recorded in Phalodi was 51 degrees, prompting the issuance of a Red Alert for the region for the next 3-4 days. The scorching temperatures are expected to gradually decrease after this period. In Haryana, a Red Alert has also been issued, while Punjab is under an orange alert for 2 days before transitioning to a red alert.
