In the scorching heat of the capital, Delhiites are participating in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a 'yellow' alert for Delhi, indicating potential heatwave conditions in isolated areas like Najafgarh and Pusa. Concerns have been raised about the heatwave affecting voter turnout, especially in Delhi and neighbouring Haryana. By 11 am, voter turnout in Delhi reached 21.69 per cent, slightly below the average. The IMD forecasts mainly clear skies with surface winds of 25 to 35 kilometres per hour during the day, along with warm nights at isolated places.
