The state issued a red alert for several districts, including Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh, for May 1. Despite the heatwave, election campaigning is in full swing for the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly polls in Odisha, which will be held in four phases starting May 13.
