GameSpark's Back End As A Service hits 35m monthly active users

Gamesparks' 'Back End As A Service' of BAAS now supports 35 million monthly active users and over 250 million players, according CMO and co-founder, John Griffin. The BAAS is currently used to help the gaming experiecnce by alowing developers access to tools that can solve issues that occur for players, on the server side.

A british based middleware company, GameSpark's could-based development platform is currently used heavily in the mobile space having recently been used for Square Enix's Lara Croft Relic Run and Pixel Toy's Warhammer: Free Blade, and is used by developers like Rovio.

However the service has been used increasingly by PC and Console developers too and games including Mini Metro and the TellTale Games published 7 Days To Die have all used the service, along with published like Bandai Namco, Future Games of London and Amazon Games Studio.

“Our back end as a service tools have helped developers big and small to overcome server side challenges," said John Griffin, "such as running an in game economy or supporting stable real time multiplayer services. But we’re always looking for new ways to help the industry as a whole.

 “By transferring over our experience supporting mobile games as a service to other platforms, we believe that we can help developers to support service driven games whatever their background – helping them to grow and succeed.”
