A 14-year-old boy was seriously injured when he was hit by a car in Portland on Tuesday evening, police said.
Officers responded to a serious motor vehicle crash around 5:33 p.m. on Main Street in the area of Waverly Avenue, according to the Portland Police Department.
Officers learned that a 14-year-old boy from Portland was attempting to cross Main Street when he was struck by a vehicle traveling north on Main Street, police said.
The teen was treated on the scene and transported to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center with serious injuries, according to police.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperating with police.
There were no other injuries reported in the crash, police said.
The Portland/Middletown Accident Reconstruction Team responded to investigate the crash.
