Hamden officers responded to Lake Whitney near Hartford Turnpike and Rogers Road around 11:15 a.m. on Monday on the report of a body in the water, according to Capt. Anthony Diaz of the Hamden Police Department.
A body of a male was removed from the water by Hamden Fire Department personnel, Diaz said.
According to Diaz, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner was contacted, and a preliminary investigation did not show any signs of trauma.
Police are in the process of attempting to identifying the man, according to Diaz. An autopsy will be conducted on Tuesday, Diaz said.
