Police seek owner of 200 goats
Police are appealing for help to find out where goats that mysteriously appeared on a farm in Beaufort-West came from.
|||Johannesburg - No one knows who owns about 200 goats that mysteriously appeared on a farm in Beaufort-West and now police are appealing for help to find out where the animals came from.
Police on Thursday said they had made “extensive enquiries” to try and find the owner of the 197 stray Boerbok goats. No clear identifiable markings were found among the five rams, 138 ewes and 54 lambs.
The mystery came to light when a farmer in the area found the animals on his farm and immediately reported to the police that he had close to 200 unwelcome guests roaming his farm.
Police said their Stock theft Unit found that the goats do not have any identification marks or tattoos and no one had yet reported any goats stolen or missing. They did not rule out the possibility that the goats may have wondered from other provinces.
