Ghost crumpets exist and they'll make a boo-tiful Halloween breakfast
‘Tis finally the season to be spooky! And there are so many ways to celebrate Halloween this year – from doing absolutely nothing other than running a bath, popping in a Lush Halloween bath bomb and lighting one of the delights from the Yankee Candles Halloween collection, to picking up a spooky Colin the Caterpillar for a Halloween party centrepiece that will go down a treat.
If you prefer your caffeine a bit creepy, you can order from the secret Starbucks menu – which includes a phantom frappuccino as well as Nightmare Before Christmas drinks – and if you’re actually brave enough to chase the ghosts and ghouls you can visit one of the most haunted houses in the UK.
But what about breakfast? Does anyone actually have time in the morning to paint a pumpkin grin on a boiled egg? Or carefully pour cobwebs onto a pancake? Or use Nutella to turn a waffle into Dracula?
No, didn’t think so.
Thankfully, ASDA is now selling ghost-shaped crumpets – that also have wide eyes and wailing mouths – and all you have to do is pop them in the toaster/under the grill for a couple of minutes and voila. Breakfast made spooky.
A pack of six will cost you just £1 and are available at ASDA stores across the UK, as well as online.
Ciara Loker, Asda product developer, said: ‘Following the success of the fluffy Bunny and Love Heart-shaped toaster treats at Easter and Valentine’s Day, we know that shaped, novelty crumpets are always popular choices amongst our customers, and we couldn’t let Halloween go by without creating these devilish delights, which are no trick and all treat.
‘Last year, our Jack-o’-lantern crumpets flew off shelves throughout October, so we hope our customers enjoy these spooktastic crumpets for Halloween just as much.’
Pretty sure they will fly off the shelves, so if you want some you’d better be quick.
