Meghan Markle’s former co-star insists she was a ‘Princess’ before she met Harry

This is lovely.

Meghan Markle’s first year in the royal family has been nothing if not difficult.

While the Duchess threw one beautiful wedding, took to her royal duties like a natural, and is now just a month away from giving birth to her and Prince Harry’s royal baby, she has also been victim to online abuse and bullying.

Whether it’s the drama with the extended Markle family, the alleged royal feud, her reported fallout with Priyanka Chopra or her baby bump backlash, Meghan Markle has been spoken about a lot this year for all the wrong reasons.

This is something that one of the Duchess’ former co-stars is keen to put an end to.

Gregg Sulkin worked with Meghan on the 2015 crime film, Anti-Social, the Duchess’ final role before she stopped acting to become part of the royal family.

And according to the 26-year-old, Meghan was a ‘princess’ long before she met Prince Harry.

Recalling filming with her, Gregg sung Meghan’s praises and stood up for her character.

‘Everybody does know her as a princess, but in real life, she genuinely is also like a princess,’ the British actor recalled during an appearance on Fair Game with Kristine Leahy. ‘She is one of the classiest, the nicest, one of the most sincere and genuine people I’ve ever met.’

He continued: ‘She was a superstar. To me, I’m so proud of the fact that she’s part of my country’s history in all honesty, aside from obviously having a personal relationship with her.

‘I just think the way she’s handling it – obviously the press of you know, it hasn’t been easy for her. And she’s stuck to her guns, which is, you know, ‘when they go low, we go high’ sort of mentality and I think she’s done that. I think she’s been a class act.’

Well, that’s just lovely.
