Women are less likely than men to work with financial advisers, in part because it's difficult to know who to trust, according to panelists at a recent MarketWatch symposium. Yet the benefits of outside counsel are significant, particularly as women confront retirement decisions about Social Security, taking distributions from retirement accounts and how to deal with Medicare.
