Mother killed by son

A 36-year-old man resident in line rooms in Kandadeniya, Ambulugala was arrested by Mawanella Police for the alleged murder of his own mother Kandasamy Seiyawathie (52) on June 20 afternoon. Police said Seiyawathie who had received cut injuries on the neck was pronounced dead on admission to the Mawanella Hospital.
Investigations revealed that a family dispute had led to the alleged murder.
The suspect was due to be produced in Court on June 21. Police investigation are continuing.
