The September 10, 2016 governorship election will be a walk over for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state has said.
According to Oshiomhole, APC will fancy their chances following the emergence of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Vanguard reports.
Oshiomhole made this known on Monday, June 20, when he met with some delegates of the APC in Edo state.

He said: “I’m very happy with the emergence of Ize-Iyamu because he will be the easiest for Obaseki to beat.
“While we will be campaigning, displaying what we have done for Edo people, he will be busy running from the EFCC cell to the campaign ground then to the court room as a result of his past ordeal in the state.
“Obaseki is a brainbox, chassis and everything that led to the success of his government and I want to assure our people that he will be outstanding in terms of governance in the state. I assure you, you will be proud of Godwin Obaseki as a party leader but more importantly, in terms of quality governance.”
NAIJ.com recalls that Ize-Iyamu was allegedly arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) last week. His arrest came shortly after undergoing a screening process by the committee of the PDP in Benin city, the state capital.
Ize-Iyamu, a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) was invited by the EFCC in connection with the N700 million arms deal allegedly shared by the party leaders during last year’s presidential election.
But according to Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu Campaign Organization, the report is untrue.
