Iran launched a series of missile strikes on US military bases
ArmInfo. On Saturday, Iran launched a series of powerful missile and drone strikes against military installations in West Asia and targets in Israel. The offensive began shortly after the US and Israel launched joint strikes against Iranian targets.
Sources in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) told Tasnim News Agency that Operation True Promise 4 has so far targeted 14 US military installations in the region, including key operational centers in the Persian Gulf and a major naval facility. The Army (Artesh) also participated in the attacks.
Iran's coordinated response, announced less than two hours after the initial strikes on Iran, demonstrated the expansion of the war zone, with strikes targeting both Israeli and US installations from the Arabian Peninsula to the Levant.
While official confirmation is still scarce, photographs indicate that Iranian missiles and drones have struck several important US military installations. Among them:
- Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar: Considered the largest US base in West Asia and the forward headquarters of the US Central Command (CENTCOM). Iran previously struck this installation during the June 2025 conflict. This time, according to an official statement from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Iran succeeded in destroying the sophisticated FP-132 radar system, capable of tracking ballistic missiles at a range of over 5,000 kilometers.
- Al Dhafra Air Base, UAE: A key US military installation near Abu Dhabi, strategically located near the Strait of Hormuz. Explosions have also been reported in Dubai.
- Muwaffaq al-Salti Air Base, Jordan. Located northeast of Amman, this base has recently attracted the attention of military analysts as a key staging area for US operations in the region due to its relatively defensible location.
- Ali al-Salem Air Base, Kuwait: Mentioned primarily as a major logistics and transportation hub for US forces in West Asia.
- Naval Support Facility (NSF) in Bahrain: The US Fifth Fleet headquarters in Manama was also hit by Iranian missiles.
Furthermore, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps press service stated that a US combat support ship (MST) was seriously damaged by the missile attack.
The operation also affected the occupied territories. Posts and photographs purportedly depicting the aftermath of Iranian missile strikes in Haifa, Tel Aviv, and the northern Galilee have appeared on social media. Israel has imposed strict censorship on military coverage, banning both Israeli and international media from filming the aftermath of Iranian attacks without permission, which is rarely granted. According to Israeli media reports, one journalist has already been arrested for filming the destruction caused by Iranian missile strikes in the occupied territories.
In a statement, Major General Ali Abdollahi, Commander of the Central Headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, announced that Operation True Promise 4 would continue without interruption.
"As we previously reported, in response to the brazen aggression of the US and the Zionist regime against Islamic Iran, all (Israeli) occupied territories and criminal US bases in the region have been subjected to devastating Iranian missile strikes," Major General Abdollahi stated.
He further stated: "This operation will continue until the enemy is completely defeated."
A senior military official added that all US and Israeli bases, resources, and interests throughout the region are now considered legitimate targets for the Islamic Republic of Iran's Armed Forces.
Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters is the main headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces.
Furthermore, on Saturday evening, Iran warned international shipping in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman that it would completely close the Strait of Hormuz within hours.
