DAGUPAN CITY – A 34-year-old woman has been charged for stealing tablets owned by the Department of Education (DepEd) here.
A report from the office of Col. Jeff Fanged, officer-in-charge, Pangasinan Police Provincial Office, identified the suspect as Jenny Aguila of San Juan, La Union.
Jimmy de Guzman Cancio, Pantal Elementary School principal, appeared before the Dagupan police to file a formal complaint against Aguila for stealing 10 Teclast model TLA007 tablets and seven chargers issued to the school on June 24.
Investigation said that on Sept. 20 at about 8:45 a.m., Rosario Cason, Administrative Officer II of the school, discovered that the tablets kept at the principal’s office were missing.
Aguila, live-in partner of school utility worker Jeffrey Garcia and both staying at the school quarters, admitted to teachers and barangay security force that she stole the gadgets.
According to Aguila, she started stealing them one by one from the first week of July until the third week of September and sold them for P500 to P1,000 to have money.
Six of them were recovered in a follow-up investigation and were properly turned over to the school.
