The countdown has begun!!!
*** SPECIAL NOTE BY EDITOR: Over the next couple of weeks, the OPDX
bulletin "may not" be published and/or "possibly" smaller than
normal because I will be on vacation/holiday. I am planning to
travel to Tennessee to visit my grand-kids and daughter (and son-
in-law). As usual, any "major" announcements will be sent out.
The October 10th bulletin should be back to normal. PLEASE, continue
to send your DX info (You never know what I might do)....

3C, EQUATORIAL GUINEA. Ersoy, TA2OM, is now active as 3C/TA2OM from
Malabo, Bioko Island (AF-010), Equatorial Guinea, as of September 19th.
This is the first time since "for some years." He states on QRZ.com,
"Will stay here for one month more, maybe two. I don't know. I was just
working all the time, make work first :)" Activity was on 10 meter FT8
using an Icom IC-7300, connected to the laptop. He states [edited], "The
antenna is a Comet multi-band vertical. Yes, I have better antennas,
like multi-band vertical and yagi from Prosystel (Italian), multi-band
E-dipole antennas." It has also been reported that Ersoy will apply for
a "3C" callsign. QSL via TA2OM or eQSL. UPDATE (September 24th): Ersoy,
TA2OM, reports on QRZ.com: "As of 23.9.2022, a local callsign has been
granted - 3C3W. Therefore I will stop using 3C/TA2OM and switch to 3C3W.
On the evening on 23.9.2022, I worked also on 40 meters. Euproean stations
did not paid much attention. Thanks to the OM's from Japan, Korea etc..
made a lot of FT8 contacts.. A lot of. The logbook as 3C/TA2OM will be
uploaded... Hope to meet you as 3C3W on FT8 and SSB."
ADDED NOTE: The callsign 3C3W is a re-issued callsign which was used
by Yuris/YL2GM, Kaspars/YL1ZF and Girts/YL2KL in 2018.
3Y0J BOUVET ISLAND DXPEDITION NEWS (Update). Co-Leaders Ken, LA7GIA,
posted the following update on the 3Y0J Bouvet Island FaceBook page
(https://www.facebook.com/groups/3093983840726129), September 24th
[edited]: NEWS UPDATE: The team have agreed new departure date from
Falkland Island Friday January 13th. The team will assemble in London
prior to departure to Port Stanley. All flight tickets for the 13 oper-
ators have been booked. We currently anticipate to arrive at Bouvetøya
January 26th +/- a few days where we have contracted a minimum of 22
days stay around Bouvetøya.
Our budget has increased and is now 700,000+ USDs. We have received
a huge support from the DX community which we are very greatful for. We
still need roughly 35,000 USDs to go to Bouvetøya and next week we pay
our 3rd vessel deposit. This shows our commitment and determination to
go Bouvet and activate the rare #2 DXCC Bouvetøya.
Please consider to contribute with a share of the vessel payment by
continue supporting us via paypal (bouvet@3y0j.no).

4X0, ISRAEL (Special Event). Look for special event station, 4X0VK, to
celebrate the historic train station in Zemach and the Jezreel Valley
Railway between October 14-15th. This is a special activity in honor of
the Australian light horse battalion that fought in this region during
World War I. The Jezreel Valley railway, or the Valley Train, was a rail-
road that existed in Ottoman and British Palestine, reconstituted as a
modern railway in Israel in the 21st century. It runs from the Mediter-
ranean coast inland along the length of the Jezreel Valley. The historical
line was a segment of the longer Haifa-Dera'a Line, which was itself a
branch of the larger Hejaz railway. QSL via 4X6ZM.

using FT/FT4 at various time. Tev mentioned this past week that he will

NOT ready and you will have to wait until 2023 for the exact routing. In
meantime, NO QSL VIA TA BUREAU please as I am not using the bureau. Any
card sent to the TA QSL Bureau will NOT be answered. Sorry but that is
the way it is. Also please DO NOT SEND any hardcopy QSL card either to
my TA or 1B address as I will not be able respond."

XZ, MYANMAR. Simon, XZ2A, posted the following on QRZ.com on September
20th: "Just a short post to update the forum about operations from Myanmar.
Although I'm working in Yangon right now (teacher at an international
school). I left my rig in Bangkok for the moment. This is because the
civil unrest (well, civil war actually) is 'hotting up', with many deaths
every day. I don't want to be found in a compromising position with my
transceiver, (meaning that the military junta could claim anything, even
if the rig is still in its box!). So I'll bide my time until the country
is more peaceful and the rule of law is clear. - Simon XZ2A "
