Showers expected in the Bay Area through the weekend
San Francisco, Oakland and other surrounding areas will see about an inch to two inches of rain starting between mid-afternoon and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, and last through Saturday, said Steve Anderson, a forecaster with the National Weather Service. Once the rain starts to move in to the area, the cold air will get pushed out and it will start warming up a little bit. Wednesday will be the coldest day of the week in the Bay Area as temperatures are expected to reach a high of just 50 degrees in San Francisco, 51 degrees in the East Bay and 55 degrees in the South Bay. Temperatures in the East Bay will hit 57 degrees on Thursday and remain in the upper 50s and low 60s for Friday and into the weekend. At the lake level, Tahoe visitors can expect to see one to four inches of rain and in some areas, even freezing rain, Boyd added.
