FRANCONIA, N.H. (AP) — Skiers in northern New Hampshire and Vermont can hit the slopes after Thanksgiving when two popular mountains open for the season.
The Caledonian Record reports (http://bit.ly/2fNYBw5) Jay Peak in Vermont and Cannon Mountain in New Hampshire both plan to open Friday. The recent snowfall is allowing both mountains to open their doors.
Jay Peak plans to open two trails on Friday. Cannon Mountain will be opening its intermediate and advanced trails, and beginner trails will open later. Cannon recently upgraded its snowmaking machines.
Bretton Woods, another popular New Hampshire mountain, opened Tuesday.
