Highway 140 to Yosemite blocked by huge boulders
Highway 140, one of the main roads leading to Yosemite National Park, remained closed Tuesday after several huge boulders plummeted onto the road Monday afternoon, officials said. The boulders were blocking both lanes of Highway 140 near the thoroughfare’s El Portal Road extension and close to the park’s Arch Rock Entrance. Drivers heading to Yosemite Valley were rerouted to Highway 41 from the south and Highway 120 from the west. National Park officials said rain could have triggered the rockfall.
