Clippers stay unbeaten and Suns still winless
Chris Paul scored 24 points, Blake Griffin had 21 points and 11 rebounds, and the Los Angeles Clippers beat the winless Phoenix Suns 116-98 on Monday night.
The Clippers’ defense was stout and forced the Suns into 14 first-half turnovers.
Four of the five Clippers starters had scored in double figures by the end of the third quarter.
Former Warrior Marreese Speights, now the Clippers’ backup center, made all four of his free-throw attempts but missed all three of his shots from beyond the arc to finish with eight points.
The Bulls had seven players in double figures, with Wade becoming the last of them when he left Bojan Bogdanovic behind with a crossover and was fouled on a drive to the basket in the fourth quarter.
Dwight Howard had 18 points and Kyle Korver and Dennis Schroder each scored 17 to help host Atlanta defeat Sacramento and surge to its first 3-0 start in five seasons.
Howard went 8 for 20 from the line, but also contributed 11 rebounds and four blocked shots.
