‘Deadpool’ Director Tim Miller to Develop ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ Movie
Sony film will be hybrid CG-animated/live action adaptation of classic video game
Tim Miller, who recently split from Fox’s “Deadpool 2,” has teamed up with Sony to develop a movie based on the “Sonic the Hedgehog” video game, TheWrap has learned.
Blur Studio’s Jeff Fowler will direct the movie, which will be a hybrid CG-animated/live action film aimed at a family audience.
The project is from Sony Pictures Entertainment and Marza Animation Planet, a CG-animation production company that’s a subsidiary of Sega Sammy Holdings.
The world of Sonic presents the perfect opportunity for Jeff to leverage his experience in animation to bring new dimension to this iconic character.
“Tim and Jeff are incredibly talented filmmakers and I’m thrilled to partner with them to help bring their exciting vision for Sonic to life,” Moritz said in the statement.
