Starbucks suit dumped; Kindle Reading Fund; YouTube’s real store
A lawsuit that accused Starbucks of misrepresenting the sizes of its cold drinks was dismissed with a written tongue-lashing by U.S. District Judge Percy Anderson.
Plaintiff Alexander Forouzesh claimed Starbucks deceptively listed the sizes of drinks as the total liquid volume of the drink and ice, not just the beverage itself, but Anderson said a “reasonable consumer” would know that the stated ounces for an iced drink contain, well, ice.
If children have figured out that including ice in a cold beverage decreases the amount of liquid they will receive, the court has no difficulty concluding that a reasonable consumer would not be deceived.
Some YouTube stars who try to make a decent living through ads and merchandise sales will soon get a boost from a brick-and-mortar store in London.
