The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu I on Saturday, August 20 advised the citizens of the country to persevere despite the current economic hardship in the nation.

The traditional ruler stated that things will get better as days roll by.

“I am confident that the economy of the country, under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, will change for good because our president is focused.” The Lagos monarch informed journalists in his palace during the celebration of the Isese Festival at Isale Eko area of Lagos Island, Lagos state.

The Oba of Lagos said the present economic situation will is a precursor to a better tomorrow.
“Let us cooperate with the government. Do not take the law into your hands and always inform the security agencies wherever there are criminal activities.” The Yoruba monarch counseled.
Oba Akiolu likewise urged the Niger Delta Avengers to do away with bombing of oil installations and bring their frustrations in form of a dialogue for the government to tackle.
The king stated:“I agree to some extent with them that certain things have to be done for them, but they just have to give peace a chance and things will work for them.
“They should stop and put their grievances on the table and the government will address it. It is not too late to mend.”
Recently, the Oba of Lagos sent a message to members of the Niger Delta Avengers to stop the violence and give peace a chance.
