(AP) — The Metropolitan Community College Board has called an emergency meeting this weekend to consider accepting the resignation of an embattled board member.
Conley resigned the chairmanship of the Omaha college's Board of Governors on Tuesday, but had refused to resign from the board, despite a threat from the U.S. Education Department to withhold student aid and other federal funding from the college if Conley remained.
