Umpire ejects foul-mouthed fan from Giants game
PHILADELPHIA — Fans who buy tickets to a ballgame are allowed to yell, but they can go only so far.
Davidson stopped the game in the sixth inning, walked toward the Giants dugout and motioned for ushers to oust the man in the lower deck after he yelled a suggestive taunt toward the umpire.
Davidson told a pool reporter that the man started by hollering, “You suck.”
When the third hitter came to bat, Davidson said, the man yelled that Davidson should meet him later to perform a sexual act.
Davidson might have been sensitive to the fact that his crew chief, Dale Scott, publicly announced he was gay.
