When you are told living in this country is hard, please do not doubt the speaker. There are little things that will frustrate the hell out of you. Your service provider could turn against you all of a sudden and make their network disappear when you need to make a very important call.

If you live in Nigeria, then you would be familiar with some of the things that would be discussed here. We love the fact that life is made simpler through the use of phones and all, but these phones will not work by themselves; so technically, you would be at the mercies of the service providers again.

The sad part is you are stuck with them and there is nothing you can do about it. If you run from one service provider to the other, you may even have a worse experience. So, just stick with one; they would make you smile another time.

Find below some of the things you may be able to relate to from using a service provider in Nigeria:

1. When you keep receiving texts from them

Now this could be frustrating; as a Nigerian, you could receive up to twenty messages from them in a day, depending on how valuable you are to them. the annoying part is these messages keep interfering with your daily routine and could make your heart skip when you are expecting an important message such as an alert.

2. When they decide to give you courtesy call

Now that the service providers know that people would not pick their calls as soon as they see the already known customer care number, they have devised another method of disturbing your peace.

They call with regular phone numbers now; and the sad part is that they may be telling you about a service you have no interest in at all.

3. When you recharge and the credit is gone the next minute

Honestly, this could be very annoying. Sometimes, you recharge and the next minute the credit is gone. There could be a thousand reasons for this; but only your service provider would be able to explain better.

4. When it takes forever connecting to the customer care service

You had better pray not to have any pressing issue with your network service provider otherwise, you are on your own. It is almost impossible for you to call the customer care and have them pick at the first ring.

Firstly, be prepared to get entertained with some song that would not end for the next thirty minutes. After you must have heard the song and the adverts they place in between for the fourth time, someone may finally pick your call. How convenient!

5. When the customer care service agent cannot provide you with accurate information

After you must have wasted a considerable amount of time trying to connect with them and place your complaints, you may be disappointed to know that the agent talking to you is as clueless about the problem as you are.

Of course, they would always apologize every thirty seconds to make you feel better. You would be placed on hold and you are back to square root one. Enjoy the music.

6. When your signal disappears

 

The network service providers could be mean sometimes; most times, they make their signals disappear just when you are about to receive an important call.

A worse scenario could be when you are visiting someone for the first time and the network disappears while you are trying to make some calls. You better find the nearest tree to climb. There would be network there.

7. When you cannot browse despite subscribing

Moments like these, you could be so pissed you would vow never to use the network again. The sad part is your subscription would be cut off the very moment it expires whether you used it well or not. That is your business.

8. When you are being given caller tune by force

Sometimes, these people do not know that you like your space. They would start advertising their callertunes to you by saying it is N100 per week, later it would be two songs for N50. If still you ignore them, it would become N5 per week and finally they would give you freely and tell you to start paying after the first month. What kind of attitude is this?

9. When they give you free airtime and give you time to use it

Please, if you want to dash us airtime as a way of appreciating our loyalty, kuma do it fully. It is tormenting when your service provider does promo and expect you to make calls with it within a particular time of the day.

Are we supposed to abandon our jobs to use your awoof credit? Also, they would give you restrictions and ask you to call just their networks.  Please stop being selfish.

10. When they borrow you airtime and charge you heavily

What kind of attitude is this? The borrowed airtime hardly lasts when compared to the one you buy yourself. It is enough that you remove a percentage from the borrowed amount, but making the tariff high while using the borrowed airtime is wickedness.
