– Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque has announced his Euro 2016 squad
– Juan Mata, Santi Carzola and Diego Costa are not included in the squad
– Spain play three warm up matches before the tournament proper
Coach Vincente Del Bosque has dropped a host of Premier League stars for Spain’s provisional 25-man squad for Euro 2016.
Manchester United’s Juan Mata, Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla and Chelsea’s Diego Costa have all been dropped after below par seasons while the likes of Chelsea’s Pedro Rodriguez and Cesar Azpilicueta and Manchester United’s David de Gea were chosen.
De Gea would be joined in the goalkeeping department by Sergio Rico and Iker Casillas, despite the latter’s mistake-prone season at Porto.
Fernando Torres was another notable omission, for Spain as they play three warm-up matches for the tournament later this month and at the start of next – against Bosnia & Herzegovina, South Korea and Georgia.
