Wedding anniversary: Adams & Iara Oshiomhole walk through life hand in hand (pics)
On Sunday, May 15, Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state and his wife Iara marked their first wedding anniversary.
Oshiomhole re-married five years after he lost his first wife Clara on December 8, 2010. The woman died after several years of battling with cancer.
The governor and his bride took the marriage vows at a private marriage registry in the Etsako West local government area of the state attended by family members and a few close friends. The wedding reception took place at Oshiomhole’s country home in Iyamho.
Dignitaries who were invited for the colourful ceremony included President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife Aisha, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former head of state General Yakubu Gowon, former vice president Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the national leader of All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, and others.

Although there were rumours on social media that Mrs Oshiomhole asked her husband for divorce, the First Lady of Edo state said that she was happy in her marriage and described the news as “the most wicked and malicious”.
“The rumour mongers are well advised to find more productive engagements to deploy their energies rather than market inanities about public personalities all in their bid to sell their medium.
“Which court of law was the alleged divorce initiated and to whom was it served? Which country, state, municipal or county, if any, is the court situated? And when was the action/suit filed? Of course the writers didn’t bother to inform their readers. The truth however is that the answers only exist in the warped imagination of the purveyors of the lies,” she said.
Perhaps because they got married just a year ago, while other governors and their wives have been married for decades but we could not help but notice the closeness between Oshiomhole and his gorgeous wife.
