Toddlers who were missing are found at SF hospital
San Francisco police Wednesday afternoon found two missing toddlers, whose mother was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment after she told officers she left the girls with an acquaintance inside a fast food restaurant on Market Street.
Shaynce Jones, 26, formerly of Oakland, left her daughters on Monday afternoon with an acquaintance inside the restaurant in the 1200 block of Market Street and said she would pick them up three hours later, police said.
After she failed to keep that appointment, she arranged by phone to meet the acquaintance on Tuesday.
After questioning Jones and determining that she made “inconsistent statements,” officers booked her Tuesday night on suspicion of child endangerment and possession of drugs, said Commander Greg McEachern of the San Francisco Police Department.
The toddlers will be medically evaluated as Child Protective Services and the police department’s special victims unit conduct follow-up investigations.
