U of Illinois looking at 'significant reforms' to budgeting
(AP) — The University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana wants to hire two administrators to help draft a long-range budget approach and is holding campus-wide sessions to discuss spending as it deals with the lack of a state budget for the current fiscal year.
Separately, the campus will hold three informational sessions over the next two weeks to talk about the budget, including the overall approach to budget planning and how the spending plan is organized.
Last year, a Campus Budget Advisory Task Force was appointed to review campus budgeting and to prepare for possible reduced state funding.
