– Rivers United coach says beating the champions is no big deal
The head coach of Enyimba football club Paul Aigbogun has disclosed that he is not under pressure, following their defeat in the opening fixture of the 2015/2016 Nigeria premier league against Rivers United.
A superb freekick in the 71st minute by Frederick Obomate was enough for Rivers United to defeat the league champions at the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt.

Apparently worried, Aigbogun comported himself while speaking with journalists after the game and assured that his team will bounce back, adding that the goals will definitely come.
He said: “I am not under pressure. We are doing our very best and we know what we have to do on the continent and I just pray that the goals we did not score today will come when we are playing our continental game.”
However, Coach Stanley Eguma of Rivers United has expressed delight that the team has started on a very good note, but stated clearly that it is not the time to celebrate.
“I feel very happy,” he started. “I know it’s a gradual process. We just started well and hope that it would end well. The boys are young and most of them are coming together for the first time. We really have a lot to do.
“Beating Enyimba today is not a big deal. It is just one match out of 38. So, we will keep our hopes alive and will work on the mistakes we have made today.

Speaking ahead of their next game away to MFM FC of Lagos, Eguma posited that it is going to be a tough one, especially for a side that has just found it’s way to the elite league.
“It is a big game and there is no time to underrate any team. We can not afford to underrate them. The fact that they are in the premier league is a big threat to our ambition, so we will go there with our arsenals and be more determined,” he raved.
It would be recalled that Port Harcourt based teams, Dolphins Football Club and Sharks amalgamated into Rivers United after the League Management Company (LMC) granted the Garden City based teams approval to merge into one.
