The transit agency sent out an alert around 7:50 a.m. reporting a 10-minute delay in Downtown Oakland in the SFO, Millbrae and East Bay directions, but that was upgraded to a 20-minute by 8 a.m.
By 8:15 a.m., the trouble was upgraded again, this time to a “major delay” with many on social media reporting waits of up to 30 minutes.
Officials said trains were experiencing delays due to “switching problems,” but by 8:25 the problem was said to be fixed and the system was recovering, though delays were likely to persist.
